Darkness Over the Media Landscape

GK Chesterton, in the chapter "The Ethics of Elfland" in the book Orthodoxy (1908), talks about "the democracy of the dead". This is in contrast to "the arrogant oligarchy", which he says is practised by people who just happen to be here and now.
